APLIKASI PENGGUNAAN SISTEM DRILLING WITH CASING PADA PEMBORAN EKSPLORASI DENGAN SURFACE CASING 13 3/8” DI LAPANGAN LEPAS PANTAI

Drilling with casing represents one of the technological development in petroleum technologies, especially in drilling operations. One of them is by using Drilling With Casing ( DWC) method.
In this method casing is used as drilling assembly, replacing drill pipe in conventional drilling, so that casing installation can be done at the same time with process of drilling hole. Hence in the operation shall no longer be needed time to pull out drilling assembly and run in casing strings, at certain depth which has been planned.
Therefore, by using this DWC method many operating expenses and time can optimized. With this method we can avoid drilling problems frequently encountered in conventional drilling operation.
DWC useas special bit, namely is drillshoe (DS). Drillshoe is installed at first casing joint and can be penetrated or re-drilled by using standard bit. Installation of float collar in the same time with casing strings makes cementing job can be done immediately. So that this matter can reduce drilling operation time.
This final project will discuss the application of DWC and casing design by considering collapse, tension and burst factors, and also calculation of drilling expense and time compared to actual condition. For simulation we use Melati-01 well, and also casing size 13 3 / 8” with P-110 NSCC grade and L-80 BTC at phase 17” by considering the economical factors.
With the same well data and formation condition with some assumptions of drilling parameters, therefore we can be predict the collapse, tension and burst factors needed in selecting casing materials. The evaluation is conducted by considering the technical and economic aspects such as operational cost.
